What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a decentralized blockchain platform that was founded in 2014 by Vitalik Buterin. Ethereum is an open-source project that is not owned or operated by a single individual meaning that anyone can interact with the network. The most popular contracts are built on the Ethereum standard ERC-20 token.
